The Brent Sickle Cell Support Group provides support
for sickle cell sufferers and their families. Our activities include:
- Promoting awareness of sickle cell in the community;
including seminars, hospital visits, and advice on welfare and benefits.
- Fundraising and special events including sponsoring
children to visit Lourdes in France, outings, dances, Christmas parties,
sponsored walks.
The group is run on an informal basis in order to encourage the free
exchange of ideas. All meetings are open to all individuals who may wish to
share their views and ideas.
Meetings are held on the first Friday of every month at 7.00 p.m. till 9.00
p.m.at the Centre.
The Group is also in the process of forming an adolescent support group
